| Try out for the lead in the spring musical. Create your first sculpture. Join the rock band. These are just a few of the opportunities waiting for you at Canterbury in the arts. Our program in music, drama, and the visual arts allows you to discover your talents and to hone your artistic skills. We value creative expression and want every student to experience the transforming power of the arts. For a small school, Canterbury offers an exceptionally strong program in the fine arts. Our students' talents enliven school life. The school’s state of the art facilities provide space for music practice, recordings, art exhibits, and performances; during the year student art is displayed throughout the school. There is an active portfolio development program for students interested in the visual arts. Our recording studio gives instrumental and choral students an opportunity to create professional recordings of their performances. Students will be working with teachers who are professional artists and performers themselves. Canterbury fine arts teachers have a great deal of experience to share. The music dept also has several local professionals come in to give private lessons.
