Faculty & Staff
Canterbury teachers are an extraordinary group of individuals. Deeply committed to the values and mission of the School, they are the most influential figures in our students’ school lives.
As inspiring teachers and thoughtful mentors, as athletic coaches and dorm parents, they exhibit a genuine concern for the welfare and development of students that extends far beyond the classroom. They cheer students on at athletic contests, applaud their accomplishments on stage, and open their homes for informal gatherings.
Students know that Canterbury teachers are always there — to answer questions about homework or college planning, to offer advice or a listening ear, and to stop and chat on the way to the dining hall or school meeting.
Supported by grants from the School, faculty members broaden their personal and academic perspectives with activities outside the classroom. The Duffy Family Travel Grant is awarded annually to those faculty members interested in broadening their cultural perspective through travel. Recent trips include Italy, Costa Rica, India, Africa and Spain.
