Canterbury Launches Alumni Regional Chapter in Florida

Canterbury's South Florida Regional Alumni chapter pose together amid palm trees, smiling.

While the hilltop is the heart of Canterbury, the strength of the School community stretches far and wide thanks to the ongoing engagement and commitment of its vibrant alumni network. On Saturday, May 16, Canterbury celebrated the official launch of its newest alumni chapter in the Sunshine State, marking an exciting new opportunity for graduates to stay connected with one another and with the School.

The South Florida Regional Chapter Luncheon was held at the Diplomat Beach Resort. Old friends reconnected and new connections were made as graduates from across decades gathered together in the spirit of friendship and shared Canterbury pride. Amid reminiscing about favorite memories from campus, alumni began to make plans for future events in the area to build even greater engagement among Floridian Saints.

“This past Saturday’s luncheon for the kickoff of our South Florida Alumni Chapter was incredibly encouraging,” says Jackson Zavatsky ’20. “Seeing so many alumni come together with such enthusiasm and genuine joy reaffirmed the strength of our community, even while being far from the hilltop. I am also deeply thankful for Director of Alumni Relations Kate Heslin, Chief Advancement Officer Tom Diascro, and especially Head of School Caroline Blatti for sharing my vision and helping bring this alumni chapter to fruition.”

With such a successful inaugural gathering, the South Florida Alumni Chapter is already off to a terrific start.
