Canterbury School is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Wilbur as the School’s next Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management, effective July 1, 2025.

Nick brings nearly 20 years of experience in independent school enrollment, financial aid, and strategic leadership. Most recently, he served as Director of Enrollment Management at Brewster Academy, where he led efforts to strengthen enrollment pipelines, grow applications across key markets, and consistently exceed tuition revenue goals. He previously held admission and financial aid leadership roles at Westminster School, Kent School, Mercersburg Academy, and Avon Old Farms School.

“Nick’s approach is strategic, thoughtful, and rooted in mission,” said Interim Head of School Sue Roberts P ’24, ’27. “He understands that enrollment work is about building trust, telling a school’s story with clarity, and guiding families toward the right fit. His experience, mindset, and values make him an exceptional addition to Canterbury.”

Throughout his career, Nick has focused on aligning enrollment goals with long-term institutional priorities. At Brewster, he led a full redesign of the admission process, integrated new systems and platforms, and contributed to a campus-wide branding and communications initiative. He also served on the senior administrative team, collaborating closely with academic, advancement, and marketing colleagues on strategic planning efforts.

Nick will partner closely with Caroline Blatti, Canterbury’s incoming Head of School, to advance the School’s strategic enrollment vision.

“Nick brings a compelling combination of expertise and heart to his work,” said Caroline. “He understands how to connect with families, how to inspire teams, and how to lead with both data and empathy. I’m thrilled to welcome him to Canterbury and excited for the partnership ahead.”

A graduate of Hobart College, where he played Division I lacrosse, Nick also holds a master’s degree in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. He has coached boys’ varsity lacrosse and basketball at each of his previous schools, bringing a team-first spirit and collaborative energy that reflect Canterbury’s values.

Nick shared, “My family and I are thrilled about the opportunity to join the Canterbury community and make our home on the hilltop. In every interaction I’ve had—with both students and faculty—I’ve felt a deep commitment to community, a genuine sense of engagement, and a shared joy that’s truly special. As a current parent, I wholeheartedly believe in Canterbury’s five values and the School’s aspiration to continue being the best small boarding school.”

We look forward to welcoming Nick Wilbur and his family to the hilltop this summer.
