Saints Celebrate Athletic Achievements at Fall Commitment Ceremony

Fourteen student-athletes pose in front of a table and step and repeat backdrop branded with the Canterbury School crest.

For many Canterbury students, their athletic achievements as Saints are only the beginning of what they will accomplish in their sport. On Wednesday, the School applauded those who have already committed to playing at the collegiate level at the Fall Commitment ceremony. Students, decked out in their college gear, gathered in the Steers Center Ragland Commons with their families, teammates, and coaches. The morning offered an opportunity to celebrate commitments to more than a dozen colleges and universities and acknowledge the dedicated efforts of these impressive athletes.

“This event is a celebration of a lot of hard work,” said Rob Morris, Director of Athletics and Co-Curriculars. “Now you’re heading off to great places, and I do not doubt that your athletic careers are only going to get bigger and better over the next four years.”

“We know that as students and athletes, you have a lot on your plate, and so you might not always have a chance to reflect,” added Head Coach of Varsity Baseball Todd Mathewson. “I hope today you can take some time to think about everything that brought you to this point, and the people who helped you along the way: your family, your teammates, even your little league coaches.”
