Three Saints Bring Home Halos

The enthusiasm was high and the cheers loud as three of our Saints were big winners at the 2023 Halo Awards ceremony held June 1 at the Palace Theater in Watertown, Connecticut. Nearly 90 Connecticut high school theater programs attended the event, the largest of its kind in the state.

ABOVE & BEYOND AWARD:
Fiona Mulheren ’23, Stage Manager for both A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Little Women, for going “above and beyond the requirements of her position to support and elevate the production.”

Performing Arts Department Chair and Co-Director of Theater Sarah Armstrong was excited for her students and delighted to share the experience with them. “The Halos are such an amazing opportunity for creative students around the state to come together and celebrate their shared passion for music and theater,” she said. “The atmosphere is buzzing with the incredible love and energy pouring from these talented young students! It is one of my most-anticipated evenings of the entire school year.”

Overall, Canterbury received an impressive 17 nominations in the prestigious Halo Awards program, which honors high schools throughout Connecticut for excellence in theater.
