Steers Center
Coming Together to Learn, Serve, and Enjoy
The stunning 22,000-square-foot Steers Center embodies the School’s core mission of developing well-rounded students who are critical thinkers and ethical leaders. This unique blend of carefully planned spaces not only supports your intellectual and social development, but inspires your growth as an individual.
Inside the Steers Center, you will find our Innovation & Design and Digital Media Labs, where you can develop your critical analysis, design-thinking, and digital competencies—skills essential to you in college and beyond. The Steers Center is also home to our D’Amour Center for Faith, Service & Justice, the central hub for community service programs, social justice advocacy, and student retreats. Finally, the facility has a vibrant and welcoming student center—the Ragland Commons—and café where you can relax and spend time with your friends. Our entire community often gathers together there for special events.
Innovation & Design Lab
This hands-on, interactive lab is where your creativity shines. Open to all students, the facility features 3D printers, laser cutters, circular saws, drills, software programs, and more for designing, prototyping, and testing various projects. It provides an ideal space for you to explore and develop your interest in applied arts, engineering, and craftsmanship.

Coleman Digital Media Lab
This multi-purpose lab meets your every digital need. Lighting, backdrops, and a green screen are ideal for photo and video shoots as well as podcasts. Another section offers 10 Mac Studio stations and numerous Wacom tablets for you to design and draw on. The Colman Digital Media Lab is generally available for community use with guidance.

D'Amour Center for Faith, Service & Justice
The D'Amour Center lies at the heart of Canterbury’s mission, centralizing the School’s community service, social justice, campus ministry, and servant leadership programming. Here, you will find opportunities to serve your local, national, and global communities, explore your spirituality, and connect deeply with your fellow Saints.

Ragland Commons
This spacious, lively student center is a hub of activity for campus events, guest speakers, special dinners, and everyday relaxation and fun. In addition to generous table seating and couches in the open floor plan, the space features foosball and pool tables, a riser for performances and presentations, a large-screen TV, an adjacent café, and fire pits just outside on the patio. The area is named to reflect the generosity and devotion of Canterbury Board President Nick Ragland ’88, P ’21 and Joelle Ragland P ’21.
Commons Café
Located just off the Ragland Commons, the Café is a favorite spot for hungry and thirsty students—or anyone else on campus—to get a quick snack, sweet treat (mmm, warm cookies!), smoothie, cool drink, or cup of coffee to get you through the day. You can also get burgers, poke bowls, breakfast burritos, and the ever-popular bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Café is open Monday–Saturday from 9:30–11:30 AM and 1:30–5:30 PM, and Sunday from 1:30–5:00 PM.
