For the 2025-2026 school year:

• New Students - January 15, 2025
• Returning Students - December 1, 2024

Yes, you can apply after January 15. However, admission and financial aid decisions for late applicants are made on a rolling basis after the March 10 notification date, depending on available space and funds. It’s important to note that Canterbury allocates the majority of its financial aid budget to students who apply during the traditional admission cycle.

Canterbury’s Financial Aid Committee primarily awards aid based on your family’s demonstrated financial need, as determined through the Clarity Application. Several other factors are also considered, including our annual enrollment goals set by the Board of Trustees, the number of financial aid applications we receive, and the available resources allocated for financial aid. All financial aid at Canterbury is awarded as grants, which do not require repayment.

For new families, financial aid decisions will be released with admission decisions on March 10. For returning families, financial aid notifications will accompany re-enrollment in February. Families applying after the traditional admission cycle will receive financial aid decisions on a rolling basis, depending on available space and funds.

Yes, families must reapply for financial aid each year by completing the Clarity Application and submitting all required documentation.

Any special financial concerns should be included in the notes section of the Clarity Application.

Not all families will receive financial aid. If the Financial Aid Committee determines that your family does not demonstrate sufficient financial need, you will be notified that you do not qualify. For new families, this notification will be available with admission decisions on March 10, and for returning families, it will accompany re-enrollment contracts in February.

International applicants are welcome to apply for financial aid. However, financial aid is available to international students on a very limited basis.

Complete the Clarity Application using the U.S. dollar equivalent for all financial information. You must also upload translated tax forms (in English) from your country of residence and income verification, such as end-of-year pay stubs.

If your family’s financial situation remains relatively unchanged, you can expect your financial aid to remain similar from year to year. However, you will need to reapply each year.

You can apply for aid in subsequent years; however, it is highly unusual to receive tuition assistance unless your financial circumstances have substantially changed.

Canterbury provides financial aid based solely on demonstrated need. However, we do offer several merit scholarships, each with its own specific criteria.
