2018 Schedule

Alumni Weekend 2018 offered an array of events and activities that provided ample opportunities for alumni to reminisce and reconnect with one another. Take a look at the schedule below.

Friday, June 8

REGISTRATION & CHECK-IN
Let us know you’ve arrived! Pick up your registration packet and, if you’re staying on campus, check-in to your dorm room.

50th REUNION & OLD GUARD LUNCHEON
WITH HEAD OF SCHOOL RACHEL STONE
Graduates from the grand classes of 1968 and prior – our esteemed Old Guard – are hosted to a luncheon at O'Connor House, the home of Head of School Rachel Stone.

3:00 PM

CAMPUS TOUR
Journey down memory lane as you visit cherished locations at the place you once called home.

6:00 – 11:00 PM

CONCURRENT EVENTS
CLASS OF 1968 50TH REUNION PRIVATE RECEPTION & DINNER
The great Class of 1968 is hosted to a formal reception and dinner to mark the momentous occasion of your 50th Reunion celebration.

WELCOME HOME BUFFET DINNER FOR ALL OTHER CLASSES
Drop in for a casual and plentiful bite to eat. All adults are welcome to relax after hours while enjoying the company of classmates (bar remains open until 11:00 PM). The evening is the first of many opportunities for you to reunite and reminisce with alumni across the decades!

8:00 PM

CURTAIN CALLS & COCKTAILS
THE FINAL BOW: A FAREWELL TO THE DREEKES
Alumni perform a cabaret-style show as we celebrate the retirement of Maddie and Robin Dreeke after 28 years of directing and nurturing students on the Canterbury stage. Once the curtain goes down, the after-party continues until 11:00 PM.

PARADE OF CLASSES
Join in the fun as all alumni classes participate in a brief march on campus, then process with pomp and circumstance to your Society of Alumni Annual Meeting.

10:30 – 11:30 AM

SOCIETY OF ALUMNI ANNUAL MEETING & ALUMNI AWARDS
Presided over by Peter Tucker '78, President of the Society of Alumni, the Annual Meeting features updates on engaging alumni initiatives and a “State of the School” address by Head of School Rachel Stone. Alumni recognitions are also on the agenda, including the Thomas J. Sheehy III Distinguished Alumni Award.

11:30 – 2:00 PM

BBQ LUNCH, CLASS PHOTOS & FAMILY FUN
Catch up with friends as you feast at our BBQ lunch, then pose with your classmates for a Pallium-worthy class photo. Enjoy family fun activities for our littlest Saints, including a bounce house, face painting, and more!

1:30 –2:15 PM

MISSION & MOMENTUM WITH HEAD OF SCHOOL RACHEL STONE
Hear first-hand about the mission and momentum of Canterbury School! Rachel Stone looks forward to taking your questions in a Q&A session and sharing the exciting plans and aspirations for your alma mater on the hill!

2:45 PM

ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCEMENT
Be among the first to hear the names of former Saints—standout athletes, coaches and teams—who have been selected as the prestigious 2018 class of Hall of Fame inductees.

Dust off your cleats and meet us for the face-off on the turf! All alumni (men and women) are invited to play. Fans and families welcome!

PICK-UP SOFTBALL GAME
A little friendly competition Odds vs. Evens!

Wind down before the evening festivities begin.

ALUMNI MEMORIAL MASS
Honoring our Catholic mission and tradition, Mass is celebrated in memory of our deceased graduates.

7:00 PM – Midnight

ALL CLASS DINNER CELEBRATION
It’s time to make new memories at the pinnacle moment of our entire Alumni Weekend! This formal celebration is complete with a strolling gourmet supper, cocktails, live band and dancing!

Sunday, June 10

9:00 – 11:00 AM

FAREWELL BRUNCH
All good things must come to an end. Bid farewell to alma mater and your fellow classmates at this informal brunch.
