Athletic Training

The Athletic Training Department is responsible for providing athletic health care for all student-athletes at Canterbury School. Certified athletic trainers (ATC’s) are health care providers/professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries resulting from physical activity. Athletic trainers also determine safe levels of participation and appropriate return to play guidelines. Athletes who are not able to participate in practices or contests are encouraged to engage in a rehabilitation program under the direct supervision of the athletic trainers.

The athletic trainers at Canterbury provide coverage for 21 sports and 52 teams throughout the course of the academic year. In providing that coverage, the ATC’s work under the direction of a licensed physician in accordance with our two registered nurses.
