Overview
The Canterbury Girls’ Varsity Soccer program is built on the foundation of commitment and sportsmanship. Coach Sam Hargrove has instilled a competitive culture amongst the players with the goal of reaching the postseason every year. Recent graduates have gone on to play at the Coast Guard Academy, Emmanuel College, Gettysburg, Maine, Muhlenberg, Yale and more.
Coaches
Head Coach Sam Hargrove
Sam Hargrove has served as the head coach of Girls’ Varsity Soccer since fall 2016 following several seasons as the assistant coach of Boys’ Varsity and head coach of Boys’ JV Soccer. Sam was a four-year varsity letter winner and starter on the Men’s Lacrosse team at Williams College, MA where he received MVP Honors his senior year. Sam played both club soccer and lacrosse during his high school years before committing to play lacrosse in college. The 2017 Saints Girls’ Soccer team had a competitive season against tough Class A and Class B-competitors, beating out Kent School, CT and Berkshire School, MA.
