Varsity Golf
The Golf team is a District 4 member of the New England Preparatory Scholastic Athletic Conference (NEPSAC). In 2024, team members broke a number of Canterbury records during a highly successful season. Golfers practice and have home matches at Lake Waramaug Country Club in nearby New Preston, Connecticut. The team plays in 12 events during the season and, in the first week of May, participates in the prestigious Western New England Invitational at Bulls Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Connecticut, against 15 other Western New England schools. The Golf program teaches competitiveness, commitment, and good sportsmanship.

Coaches
Head Coach Bob Potter
Bob Potter first came to Canterbury in the fall of 1993 and has been the varsity golf coach since 2007, making him one of the longest-tenured coaches in NEPSAC. Prior to joining Canterbury, he was head coach at Tilton School in New Hampshire for four years. Bob has been playing the sport for more than 40 years and is a member at Quaker Hill Country Club in Pawling, New York, where he regularly competes in club events. Bob’s coaching focus deals mainly with the mental demands of the sport and the intricacies of team golf. Many of his players have gone on to play at colleges such as Elon University, North Carolina; St. Lawrence University, New York; the University of Connecticut; Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania; Wesleyan University, Connecticut; and Bowdoin College, Maine. Four of his players have competed in state competitions like the Connecticut State Junior Tournament, Connecticut Amateur, and the Connecticut Open.
Assistant Coach Cam Roffe
A member of Canterbury's Class of 2012, Can Roffe returned to the School in 2018 as a faculty member in the Mathematics Department. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut in 2016. Cam is also Head Coach for Girls' JV Basketball at Canterbury. In addition to his teaching and coaching duties, he serves as a Dorm Parent to Hickory Hearth.
