As Head Coach of Boys’ Varsity Hockey at Canterbury, Andrey Uryadov brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the hilltop. A former standout at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Andrey played in over 125 NCAA Division I games from 2005–2009, tallying 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 career points. A four-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic honoree, he earned recognition as the team’s co-Most Improved Player in 2006–07 and was named to the Rensselaer/Bank of America All-Tournament Team after a four-point game against Ohio State.
Before RPI, Andrey starred at South Kent School, where he was a two-time team MVP and led his team to the 2004 NEPSHA Championship.
Following his playing career and before arriving to Canterbury, Andrey spent 10 years at South Kent School in Head Coach, Director of Hockey, and Director of Skill Development roles, helping student-athletes advance to play at the collegiate level. He ran on-ice training, summer hockey programs, and introduced advanced video analysis tools like HUDL and Playsight to elevate player development and game review.
At Canterbury, Andrey combines his coaching expertise with his role as Associate Director of Admission, where he supports prospective families and brings valuable experience in student advising and residence life. He holds a B.S. in Financial Management with a minor in Sports Psychology from RPI, graduating cum laude. He lives on campus with his wife, Elena, and their two sons.
