The Canterbury hockey program offers one of the most competitive schedules in Division II. It attracts outstanding student-athletes who are motivated and highly prepared for the next level of hockey. The team has made the New England Tournament four times. The goals of the program are to improve as individual players every day and build a cohesive team. Sportsmanship and integrity are focal points of the program as well as earning a spot in in the New England Tournament.
Recent graduates have played collegiately at Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Colgate, Cortland State, Curry, St. Anselm’s, Syracuse, Elmira, Holy Cross, Lake Forrest, Norwich, RIT, Union, Utica College, Wesleyan, and Williams.
Katie was appointed Girls’ Varsity Hockey coach for the 2017-18 season following her experience as head coach of Girls’ Varsity Hockey at Holderness School, NH. Katie played four years of varsity hockey at Loomis Chaffee, CT after which she continued her athletic career at Middlebury College, VT on both the Women’s Hockey and Lacrosse teams. During her playing career, the Middlebury Women's Hockey team made two NCAA Frozen Four appearances (2013, 2016) and were NESCAC Champions in 2016. Katie captained the team her senior year. While on the Middlebury Women’s Lacrosse team, the team made three NCAA Final Four appearances (2013, 2015, 2016) and were NESCAC and NCAA Champions in 2016. Katie was elected as the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA tournament for her performance as starting goalie. Additionally, Katie has worked at a variety of camps and clinics throughout the New England region in both sports and continues to do so over the summer months.
