The Father Greenan Fund

Canterbury’s founding Headmaster, Dr. Nelson Hume, chose as the School’s motto “Supercertari Semel Traditae Sanctus Fidei” (To contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints). Father Clement T. Greenan, O.P. epitomized this motto as Canterbury Chaplain from the fall of 1965 to the summer of 1976. To honor his legacy at Canterbury, The Father Clement T. Greenan, O.P. Endowment Fund to Support the Chaplaincy has been established. This endowed fund will support the purchase and maintenance of all vestments, liturgical and ecclesiastical needs, as well as provide for a special fund to use at the chaplain’s discretion.

To make a contribution to permanently memorialize his legacy, please contact the Office of Advancement at 800-526-1710 or use the secure form provided here.

The Father Greenan Fund

“Father Greenan, what a wonderful man! I remember him reading roll call in class with a pause and a smile, reflecting on each name. Father was devoted to his church, to Canterbury, and to his beloved Ireland.”
