Meredith Berry-Toon

Canterbury's Boys' Swim Team is this year's New England Prep School Div. 3 champion. The girls' team came in fourth, and they enthusiastically supported the boys and their win. The competition took place on March 4 at Deerfield Academy.

"The boys and girls swam their hearts out," said coach Allen Garner. "It was not an easy win for our boys. They went up against teams that were much bigger than Canterbury. Many of our boys and girls swam their personal best times."

The 400 freestyle relay team (Jack Bednar, Spencer McLean, Matt Howard and William Ondrey) broke the division and school records. These boys went on to take first place and break another record in the 200 freestyle relay.

Individual Highlights

William Ondrey: Division 3 champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

Matt Howard: Division 3 champion in the 200 and 500 freestyle.

Spencer McLean: Division 3 champion in the 200IM.

Conner Murphy received the Babcock Award, presented to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the values of New England Prep School Swimming and Diving.

Bella Jimenez: Division 3 champion and school record holder in the 100 freestyle.

It was an incredible day for Canterbury. Go Saints!
