The Boys' Swim team travelled to West Hartford on Saturday, March 3, to compete at the New England Class C Tournament. They finished their season with a first-place win - their third straight Class C Champion title - and set several new Canterbury School and division-wide records.

The Boys' 200 and 400 free relays, composed of Sam Tscheppe '21, Matt Martin '19, Spencer McLean '19, and William Ondrey '19, set Class C records at 1:30.15 and 3:18.59, respectively. Other top finishes included Matt Martin's 19 2nd place in the 200 free (1:51.38) and 3rd in the 500 free (5:06.27), Ryan Greguski's '20 2nd place in Diving and Canterbury School record (306), and Tyler Frederick's '19 4th place in 100 back (1:02.65).

Team captains Spencer McLean '19 and Will Ondrey '19 presented the trophy to Head of School Rachel Stone at school meeting on Monday, March 5. Both swam personal bests. McLean '19 won 1st in the 200 IM and broke the Canterbury School record with his 1:56.77 swim and 1st in the 100 Fly (51.61 ). Ondrey '19 finished 1st in the 50 free (22.28) and 2nd in the 100 free (49.08).

Canterbury was only up by single-digit points as the team headed into the final event. The Boys' 400 Free Relay beat out the second place competitor by nearly seven seconds, ultimately bumping Canterbury up ten points and bringing home the trophy.

Congratulations to coaches Irving, Bush, and Root, and all of the swimmers for their results and season-long dedication!
