Canterbury transitions from fall activities to winter season

As winter creeps into Connecticut and sunlight becomes a scarce commodity on campus, Canterbury paused just before the Thanksgiving Break to celebrate several remaining moments of the fall season.

With the conclusion of the fall academic semester approaching in tandem the winter months, Canterbury honored nine VI Formers whose academic achievements have merited induction into the Honor Society. Those recognized include Ellyn Fritz, QuiShi Huang, Myung Jin Lee, Alexander Lytle, Dongyoon Shin, Steven Sigillito, Quentin Silverio, Nicholas Toth, and Jiahao Wu. These nine students join four of their VI Form classmates who were inducted this past spring: Zhiyi Li, Tong Lin, Bella Papov, and Clara Tomann.

Canterbury also celebrated a successful fall performance of Much Ado About Nothing. The performance marked the final fall production directed by longtime faculty member Madeline Dreeke and her husband, production manager Robin Dreeke.

Jordan Jayson '21 and Margaret Melich '19 co-led the production in their joint role of Beatrice, the play's female lead, while Nick Vial '20 led the show as Leonato, the male lead. Jess Garcia '19 and Gregg McKenna '19 also held lead roles as Hero and Antonio, respectively. The players hosted two successful performances of the play on the evenings of Thursday, November 16 and Friday, November 17. The entire student body took advantage of the opportunity to see their friends and classmates perform and many outside community members were also in attendance.

We look forward to the final weeks of the semester and the beginning of the winter athletic season!
