Awards were announced during a virtual ceremony on July 10 and Canterbury had four big wins: Best Comic Male Performance in a Musical was awarded to Beckett Reynolds ’23 as Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; Best Special Effects was presented to Giselle Bradshaw ’21, Sydney Ragland ’21, and Celine Yoo ’21, for their role as Foley Artists for A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play; Best Performance by the Cast in an Ensemble Musical was awarded to the cast of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; and a special Above & Beyond Award was given to Stage Manager Giselle Bradshaw ’21 for her work behind the scenes in A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play.

The Halo Awards, sponsored by the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, CT, honor high school students’ achievements in all aspects of theatre. Over 60 high schools from across the State of Connecticut participate annually in the Award Ceremony, held each year since 2003.
