This week marks the first annual Gunnery Week as the Canterbury community prepares for Friday's pep rally and Saturday's athletic competitions against our rival, The Gunnery!
Monday is Mix-Match Monday with students and faculty alike dressing in spots, stripes, and plaid. Tuesday is Twin Tuesday, and Wednesday, students will dress up in their Form color. VI Form Council has the School throwing back to the 60s, 70s, and 80s for #TBThursday. Friday culminates the week of spirited dress and activity with the appropriate theme of Canterbury Spirit Wear.
Following a week of Canterbury spirit, Friday, November 10 marks the first annual Gunnery Day Pep Rally. Each varsity sport will spend the week preparing a skit for the School community. Several Houses and other student groups will also be performing on Friday evening...with a surprise skit or two from the faculty!
Gunnery Day will be held on Saturday, November 11 as day of athletic competitions against our nearby rival. Athletic Director Jim Stone notes, "We are very excited to host the first 'Gunnery Day' and are looking forward to great competition and sportsmanship between the two outstanding schools for years to come. There is already a natural rivalry with Gunnery, and our students are looking forward to this spirited week and day. At the end of the year, the Canterbury - Gunnery Cup will be presented to school who has won the most contests in all levels of competition throughout the year."
