Jim Stone Takes Reins of Varsity Football

Meredith Berry-Toon

Jim Stone, Canterbury's director of athletics, is the new head varsity football coach. He succeeds Tom Taylor who led the team on-and-off for many years. This past season, Jim served as an assistant coach.

With twenty-two years as head football coach at Blair Academy, Jim brings a wealth of experience to Canterbury's program. His gridiron résumé includes six Mid-Atlantic Prep League championships, eight state prep "A" titles, and eleven "Big Three" titles. In addition, he is the winningest football coach in Blair's history.

"I enjoyed very much working with coach Tom Taylor this fall," says Jim. "He has done so much for Canterbury football over the past couple of decades. I am really excited about leading the Saints next year and continuing the tradition of excellence that coach Taylor has instilled here."
