On Friday evening, Canterbury students piled into Pigott Arena to support the Girls' Varsity Volleyball team against Cheshire Academy for the 8th Annual Pink Out Night. Both teams were decked out in pink gear to raise money and awareness surrounding breast cancer research. While Cheshire, a tough opponent, beat Canterbury, it was an exciting game for the student body to support - one with a focus on a greater purpose than just the score.
The team was led by captains Lilly Hoeniger '18 and Coco Booth '19. Coco played a particularly tough match and was awarded MVP of the game from Head Coach E.J. Soifersmith. Coach Soifersmith noted, "The girls were excited to play with so much support from their classmates. The positive energy of the crowd and number of students who attended - nearly the entire school - was a great representation of the student body."
The proceeds from the game and bake sale have been donated in support of Breast Cancer Research to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
