Meredith Berry-Toon

The Saints Varsity Field Hockey team beat New Hampton School in the first round of the New England Class C tournament to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 18, when they travel to St. Mark's to play against Holderness School at 2 pm.

While New Hampton was seeded third in Class C above Canterbury at number six, the Saints pulled away with a 1-0 win. Victoria Body '18 scored in the first half, and Canterbury's defense, led by Ellyn Fritz '18, held off New Hampton's offense for the second half.

Jami Procanik '19 had a tremendous game as goalkeeper, fielding and successfully defending seven corners from New Hampton during the second half.

"I'm very proud of the team," remarked Head Coach Caitlin Cataldo. "They played with grit and integrity. The team has come together to play as a whole, evidenced by this win. Our five Sixth Formers have done an incredible job leading their team to success."
