Meredith Berry-Toon

The US Lacrosse Association/CT Chapter has named Sara Bouwman '17 a Team All-American for 2017.

A three-year standout at midfield, Sara captained the team during the 2016-2017 season. In May 2017, she was named MVP of the team and best all-around female senior athlete. Her previous honors include being named to the Western New England All-Star team in 2017. In addition, she was named an All-American in 2016. She is the first female athlete in Canterbury's history to receive the honor twice.

In the 2017 season, Sara had 70 goals, 42 assists, and 131 draw controls.

Sara will continue to play lacrosse at Villanova University.

"Sara is one of the most talented athletes I have coached in 20 years," says her coach Lindsay Mulhern. "She is the perfect combination of speed, skill and gamesmanship. Sara is a dedicated student of the game of lacrosse; she can often be found on the field with a bucket of balls honing her craft long after her teammates have left. She works incredibly hard and is always looking to raise her level of play. I am confident that Sara will be a successful college athlete."

Congratulations, Sara.
