Sixth Form Athletes Commit to Div. I Universities for Crew and Lacrosse

Meredith Berry-Toon

In the spirit of National Signing Day, two Canterbury Sixth Form athletes signed their letters of intent to Div. I programs this past week. Gigi Schullery '18 signed to play Div. I lacrosse at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (West Point), while Bella Papov '18 signed to row Div. I crew at Lehigh University.

Both students are four-year Sixth Formers, colloquially known as "diehards." Schullery '18 plays defense for the Saints' lacrosse team, and she has been a starter for each of her four years. Papov '18 has developed her rowing skills by sculling during the off-season at New Milford's GMS Rowing, an independent rowing club which practices on the Housatonic River, where the Saints launch from in the spring.

Schullery '18 and Papov '18 join three classmates of theirs who signed their letters of intent to pay DI baseball this past week.
