Canterbury Theater presented its annual fall Shakespeare play, The Taming of the Shrew, on Thursday, November 17 and 18. The production was held in Maguire Auditorium.
In the week leading up to opening night, the actors had several dress rehearsals to perfect their lines and blocking, and the tech crew was busy honing their cues.
"This production of The Taming of the Shrew is the culmination of sacrifice, challenge, and hard work by the students who are so committed to it," said Madeline Dreeke, an English teacher and director of the show. "It has also been a community event that started when Canterbury's English Department had the vision to make the play a central study for all English classes, no matter the level. What ensued was an educational experience that promoted communication among the teachers and students in an innovative teaching/learning experience. "
Fourth and Fifth Formers viewed the play on Thursday; Third and Sixth Formers attended on Friday.
Congratulations to the cast, crew, and directors of the show. Well done!
