From the multiple-award-winning, critically acclaimed author Stephen P. Kiernan '78 comes The Baker's Secret, a shimmering tale of courage, determination, optimism, and the resilience of the human spirit, set in a small Normandy village on the eve of D-Day.

HarperCollins released the book on May 2 to glowing reviews.

"The Baker's Secret is that rare novel that restores a belief in humankind, and reminds readers that quiet heroes often walk among us," stated Pamela Klinger-Horn of Excelsior of Bay Books.

Stephen is the author of two additional novels, The Hummingbird and The Curiosity, and two books of nonfiction, Last Rights and Authentic Patriotism).

During each of his four years at Canterbury, Stephen wrote for the School's newspaper, The Tabard, and, as a senior, served as its editor-in-chief.

The Vermont-based writer is currently on tour to promote The Baker's Secret.

Stephen will be appearing at NYC's Barnes and Noble (150 E86th St.) on May 11 beginning at 7 p.m.
