Travel Opportunities

Open Your Mind and Heart to the World

Over the past three decades, Canterbury has offered its students various domestic and international travel opportunities. These are amazing opportunities to expand your horizons, be exposed to different points of view, build upon your classroom experience, walk in others’ shoes, and foment understanding, empathy, and interconnectedness.

A wide, empty plaza in the foreground leads to a grand, ornate basilica with multiple spires and arched walkways in the background, all under a dramatic, cloudy sunset sky.

One of Canterbury’s most meaningful traditions, this 10-day service trip to Lourdes, France, offers students a chance to deepen their faith by aiding those who travel to this holy site to bathe in the healing waters.

A canal with houseboats in the foreground is lined with colorful, historic buildings under a cloudy sky in the background.

Through our guided tours, meaningful service activities, exhibition games, and time to explore, this trip offers the perfect balance of athletics, culture, and adventure, all creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

A calm river reflects the illuminated buildings and the Notre Dame Cathedral in the background.

This immersive trip to France includes a week living with a host family in a French province and culminates with a trip to Paris with your fellow Saints.

Ancient marble columns of the Parthenon stand prominently in Greece under a blue sky.

Canterbury students will step into the heart of the ancient world on a journey through Italy and Greece, where history, art, and culture surround you at every turn.

Arched colonnades with ornate railings in the foreground frame a view of a tall, ornate tower and surrounding buildings in the background.

The trip offers an opportunity to stay in the heart of a beautiful, historical gem in southern Spain. You will attend language classes as well as have the opportunity to travel to nearby cities of Cadíz, Granada, and Córdoba while also experiencing the local flamenco shows and a cooking class.

Whether you want to immerse yourself in another culture, conduct research in the field, or dedicate time to a meaningful service trip, Canterbury has opportunities for you to discover the world beyond our hilltop.

Our longest-running trip offering is an annual service Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, which began in 1992. In Lourdes, you work with volunteers from all over the world to serve the malades (people who are ill) who travel there for physical and spiritual healing. Other international and domestic travel opportunities vary by year. For more information, contact our Director of International Travel Programs, Julio Omaña.
